In Preparation of Kufu the Sands of Time Await

Art Statement

When Khufu was buried at the Great Pyramid of Giza, he hoped that his grandness would withstand every onslaught of entropy. A "failed" pyramid, the Bent Pyramid, was built right before. It was for Khufu's father Sneferu and had too steep of a base. They fixed this by building the top with a greater exterior angle. Sometimes I feel like that "failed" pyramid. I'm often temporarily discouraged but I'll never concede. I'll go after what I want. I'll improve, adapt and correct my preconceived notions. I'll see reality, not how I want it to be, and bend that reality into an improved form. Khufu failed to reach immortality. He wanted to make what he saw the only truth. He wanted his current self-image to last forever. He couldn't adapt his preconceived notions to better understand and change reality or strive towards a greater understanding of the truth. The Great Pyramid will fade into the abyss carved by the blowing sands of time until the last person finally speaks his name. I am often temporarily discouraged and crestfallen, but am not permanently discouraged and I will never concede. I am still ready to go after what I want. I have ever been ready to improve myself and adapt, to correct my preconceived notions of this world. I try to see reality as it truly is, not how I want it to be and I try to be able, in at least some small part, to bend reality to a form that is an improvement from what it was.
