I went down from the path to the glorious sun, to warn you from your continuing path away from the world of form and to the one which lay in shadow. I once too strayed from the long but good corridor. Seeking the forbidden but delectable sweet fruit of immortality. However, by reaching for what I thought I most desired, I fell endlessly until I reached the ground. There I met the old wisdom, the lady of death herself, and the keeper of all of philosophy. She said I must let go, to release my young mind from the imprisonment of ancient ideals. It is in our quest for a set purpose that we lose our chance at a real one. We must not reach up and grasp the star but approach it endlessly like falling down to a singularity as it follows endlessly on its asymptote of truth. It is by recognizing that it is not the human made fire that fuels our flight from madness but the ever-present sun. We will never reach its infinite glory but through the use of reason, scientific craftiness, and remembrance that we are mortal beings we will reach an ever-increasing circle of morality and become immortal in the sense of infinite death and rebirth. Accompany me on my humble trek and may we both go up together.
